Terms of service
Last updated 8 August 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and ZESD LTD for your use of the Zesd app. By using Zesd you accept them. If you do not, please do not use the app.
What Zesd does
Zesd helps you plan meals, turns those meals into a shopping list, prices that list at UK supermarkets, and — when you ask it to — signs in to your own supermarket account and adds the items to your basket there.
Zesd is not a shop. We do not sell food, we do not take payment for groceries, and we never place an order or complete a checkout for you. Every purchase is a contract between you and the supermarket, on their terms, and you complete it yourself on their site or app.
Your account
You must be 16 or over and live in the United Kingdom for the app to be useful to you. Sign-in is through Apple or Google. Keep your device and those accounts secure — anyone who can unlock your device can use your Zesd account.
Connecting a supermarket account
When you connect a supermarket, you are asking us to sign in as you at that shop and to add items to your basket on your behalf. By connecting it you confirm that the account is yours, that you are entitled to authorise this, and that doing so does not break your agreement with that supermarket.
We only ever read your basket and add the items your shopping list calls for. We do not change your addresses or payment methods, do not book slots and do not place orders. You are responsible for reviewing the basket before you pay for it.
Supermarkets change their websites without telling anyone. A sign-in or basket load can fail, and a shop may block automated access at any time. Disconnect a shop whenever you like, in Profile → Shop logins.
Prices, products and availability
Prices and product matches in Zesd are our best current information, not an offer. They can be out of date, a product can be out of stock, and a substitution can be wrong. The price you pay is the one the supermarket charges at checkout. Always check the basket before you buy — particularly if you have an allergy or a dietary requirement, where the packaging and the supermarket's own product information are what count, not ours.
Recipes and nutrition
Recipes come from the catalogue, from third-party sites you import, and from what you add yourself. Where a recipe is reproduced from another site we link to the original. Calorie and nutrition figures are estimates for general information; they are not dietary or medical advice.
Content you add
Recipes, photos and notes you add stay yours. You give us permission to store and process them so the app can work — showing them back to you, extracting a recipe from a photo, building lists from them, and sharing them with people you choose to share a link with. Do not upload anything you do not have the right to upload, and do not upload anything unlawful.
Acceptable use
- Use Zesd for your own household shopping, not to resell or to run a business off it.
- Do not connect a supermarket account you are not entitled to use.
- Do not attempt to break, overload or reverse engineer the service, or scrape it.
- Do not use Zesd to break the law or anyone else's terms.
We may suspend or close an account that does any of these, or that puts the service at risk.
Beta, availability and price
Zesd is in open testing and is free to use while it is. Features will change, and it will sometimes be broken. We do not promise the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we may change or withdraw features. If we ever start charging, we will tell you in advance and you will be able to decline.
Our liability
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law. Your rights as a consumer under UK law are not affected by anything here.
Subject to that, we are not liable for losses that were not foreseeable, for loss of profit or business, or for the cost of groceries you chose to buy. Zesd is a planning tool: the decision to buy, and the check that the basket is right, are yours.
Ending it
You can stop using Zesd at any time and delete your account in Profile → Delete account. That removes your account and everything that identifies you; the meal plans and recipes you built stay in the catalogue with nobody attached to them, and the privacy policy sets out exactly what that means. We may end this agreement by closing your account if you break these terms, or by withdrawing the service, in which case we will give you reasonable notice where we can.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed, and we will tell you in the app about changes that materially affect you. Continuing to use Zesd after a change means you accept it.
Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you can also bring proceedings in your own courts.
